✈️ Chase 100K Bonus, Etihad New Suites & Hampton Inn Drama
Hey there, miles and points enthusiasts! Welcome to another episode of Miles & Points Daily. I'm Lucas, and wow, do we have some interesting stories to cover today. You won't believe some of these - from soap-less hotels to mystery liquids in first class!
Let's start with some big credit card news. The Chase Sapphire Preferred has just launched an incredible one hundred thousand points welcome bonus. This is one of the best offers we've seen on this card, and if you're eligible, now is definitely the time to apply. You can find our application link in the show notes.
In hotel news, there's a rather bizarre situation at a Hampton Inn in Dallas. Apparently, they're not providing any soap or body wash to guests - yes, you heard that right - but they're still charging full price for rooms. This is definitely not the Hilton standard we're used to, and it's a reminder to always pack your own toiletries, just in case!
Speaking of American Airlines, they've made some interesting changes to their lounge food service. They're now serving full-size bratwurst, but here's the catch - they're providing tiny plates. It seems like a not-so-subtle way to discourage people from taking too much food. Pro tip: maybe grab a quick bite before heading to the lounge.
In some concerning news, a Frontier Airlines fee dispute took an unexpected turn when an Iranian PhD student was threatened with deportation over a one hundred dollar carry-on bag fee. The incident, which occurred on New Year's Eve, shows how important it is to be familiar with airline fees before traveling and to arrive at the gate with plenty of time to resolve any issues.
There's also some exciting news from Etihad Airways, who have just unveiled new first and business class suites for their single-aisle jets. The new cabins will be launching on their Airbus A321LR aircraft in August, bringing a premium experience to shorter routes.
For our Hilton Honors members, American Express has just launched some limited-time welcome offers on their co-branded cards. These offers include elevated points bonuses and some interesting perks, so it might be worth checking out if you're in the market for a new hotel credit card.
Now, before we wrap up, here's a quick word from our sponsor:
